We have a new house?
It’s official! Alpha Gamma Delta will be moving to 1661 Tibbits Avenue in May 2007. Lease documents were finalized shortly after Thanksgiving and construction and repairs have already begun.
Who is paying for the house?
The cost of living in the house will be covering by the room and board charges paid by each sister living in. These room and board charges include a rent, a full meal plan (with a chef), and utilities. Other miscellaneous expenses such as paint, snow removal, and decorations will be paid for out of the House Association Budget. We were able to guarantee the lease partially with the assets of the HA and partly by the backing up of some of our wonderful alumni. Overall, the cost of living in our new home will not cause any increase in cost over living on the RPI campus. We do need to fill the entire new house with furniture and that is why alumni as well as undergraduate campaigns have begun to raise money for the needed furniture.
Are the undergrad members raising money too?
The undergrad members have been working hard on raising money for a new house. They’re efforts began long before the lease for 1661 Tibbits Avenue was even finalized. Their goal is to raise $7000 (half the security deposit) and so far they have raised $4000. They are more then half way to their goal and have more fundraisers planned in the near future.
What about extra expenses?
Expenses such as snow removal, utilities, and service technicians we may need are included in the undergraduates’ room and board bill. Items such as paint, decorations, and furniture will be paid for out of the House Association Budget and will be “owned” by the alumni. The alumni are currently running a class wars competition and the money raised from that will be added to the House Association budget to specifically be used towards the one-time cost of purchasing these items for the new house.
When are we moving in?
Construction is underway and the goal of the contractors is to have it complete by April 2007. This would give us the opportunity to move in around mid-May 2007 and have time to paint and decorate over the summer before the 2007 school year begins.

What do the active Sisters think about a new house?
The undergraduate members are thrilled and anxious to have a new home. Each set of roommates will have the opportunity to plan out the décor in their new room and girls have already begun formulating ideas as to how they want to decorate their new rooms.
I want to support the undergrads, what should I do next?
Currently we have several options for donating. One-time donations can be made by check or through Paypal. Reoccurring payments can be made using Paypal. These can be made in any denomination you choose and will automatically be paid to the House Association every month for one year. Any donations that are made, no matter how they are made, will be credited towards the alumni class wars competition as long as the donor includes their class year with the donation.
