Delta Epsilon was the local Sorority from which came the Zeta Eta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta.  The local Sorotity was founded on February 21,1979 by eight women living in Warren Hall.  They include: Joan Aiello, Michelle Davitt, Janice Fischer, Nadene Lynn, Mary Halloran, Katie Kennedy, Pat McNicholas and Anne Zawalinski.  Joann Aiello was the first president.  The symbols chosen were DE (Delta Epsilon) meaning “Changing Eight” and the sorority’s colors were blue and orange. On April 25, 1979 Delta Epsilon was voted into the Interfraternity Council at Rensselaer as a colony member.  As this new sisterhood began to grow DE’s began to look for a National Women;s Fraternity to affiliate with.  On March 9th, 1980 DE was pledged to Alpha Gamma Delta.  There were some women wearing two pledge pins at this time, one for DE and one For AGD.  After a few months of pledging and learning of Alpha Gamma Delta the women were ready.  On May 10, 1980 the Zeta Eta chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta was installed and the Delta Epsilon sisters were initiated into Alpha Gamma Delta.  It is from this beginning that we have grown to be the house that we are today.
